Day 3....Tuesday May 12, 2015

330 Miles

We had a very pleasant breakfast at our more than comfortable, Comfort Suites, then began our day’s adventure heading West on I-64 toward St. Louis.  We wanted to be sure to stay on I-64 going around St. Louis to the south side, avoiding the Ferguson area.  We joined I-70 on the West side of St. Louis and would stay with that road for 330 miles to Kansas City, MO.  This took us through part of America’s breadbasket with low hills and a few large rivers.  The massive farms were everywhere we traveled, it’s just amazing to behold.

We arrived at Linda’s Aunt Lola’s home near Kansas City, MO in the early afternoon so we could visit with all the cousins that were close enough to come over.  While we all reacquainted with each other, it highlighted that our visits together are just too infrequent.  We had a wonderfully catered meal, courtesy of Lola’s recent winnings on the River Boat Casino.  After an awesome visit that lasted into late evening, we said our goodbyes and continued westward to our motel destination of the day, the Country Inn & Suites in Kansas City, KS.
